Sun trine Neptune 2013
The Sun trines Neptune at 3:40 PM PST this afternoon. This is a very idealistic and spiritual combination. As the Moon is also void from 1:31 PM until tomorrow morning at 9:12 AM when it moves into Leo, try to finish your work this morning and maybe leave early today. Sun/Neptune sensitizes you and activates your imagination. A trip to nature, or any serene, uplifting place is called for, even if this means wandering through your own imagination. You could also use this energy for a expedition to the beach or to lose yourself listening to music. The Sun is the self and Neptune dissolves whatever it touches. A great time to get lost in an inspiring, soul enhancing experience.
Mercury trine Neptune 2013
Mercury trines Neptune tomorrow at 2:46 PM PST. Mercury is the mind and communication, and as we saw yesterday just moved into the intense fixed water sign of Scorpio. Neptune is a transcendental planet that dissolves whatever it touches. As a trine is a positive, flowing aspect, this makes for an imaginative day, with intuitive thinking and compassion for others. It may even bring flashes of precognition.
Today the Moon is in Leo and will cross over the recent Venus/Mars square. First conjoining Mars (impulsive excitement) at 7:03 PM, and then squaring Venus (moodiness) at 9:48 PM.
The Sun will be turning the ongoing Uranus/Pluto square into a T-square this week, but more on that tomorrow.
Venus is love and art, and Neptune is the refining energy that dissolves boundaries; together, and in a flowing aspect, they make a poetic, romantic, compassionate combination. This is a good time to spend a romantic evening in beautiful surroundings, or just to daydream and float. It is not a high energy transit; it’s the kind of introspective urge to merge with the spiritual world or with your soul-mate. Read poetry, listen to music, and walk on the beach.
There was a poet in the San Francisco poetry scene who wrote a poem with a line in it something like this: “lie to me baby, the truth will catch up with me soon enough.” It’s that sort of energy, where you prefer to float in the illusion even if you have intimations that it isn’t real. Jacques Lacan also has a quote about love (I can never find it) something like: love is giving the other what you do not have. Maybe all love is based on illusion, on a promise of wholeness and fulfillment which can never be realized, but a necessary illusion, without the hope of which, life is not worth living.
Mercury opposite Neptune 2013
The Moon entered placid, earthy, fixed Taurus at 6:13 AM PST, which will trine the Sun and then Mercury, followed by a sextile to Neptune before the Mercury/Neptune is exact, next we have an opposition to Saturn and then a trine to Pluto at 11:30 PM PST. Hopefully sensuous Taurus will ground the worse tendencies of Mercury/Neptune. A better day to daydream or watch movies than to try to think. Stay in your body and imagination and out of your logical mind today.
Sun square Neptune 2013
Astrologically, Neptune has more to do with the Hindu goddess Maya than with the rather rough and tumble Roman god Neptune.
Maya is the goddess of the immaterial, which could be illusion or deception, or the highest spiritual truth, Nirvana, where all is one.
The Sun represents the ego in an essential sense, and Neptune denies the ego. Neptune is limitless, timeless, without boundary, when it contacts the poor finite self it dissolves it.
In the 90 degree aspect of a square this dissolution is liable to be unpleasant taking the form of illness, weakness, inebriation or muddleheadedness. One would hope, it may also emerge in its higher manifestation as true spirituality, or self-less sacrifice.
