Mercury enters Scorpio
Mercury enters Scorpio at 1:46 PM PDT Monday afternoon. Mercury is the mind and mediation. The god with winged sandals, Mercury carries the messages that make up the logical mind. When Mercury enters Scorpio the mind turns inward and dives deep under the surface of things and apparent meanings to what lies beneath. When Mercury enters Scorpio it has the perseverance to pursue difficult problems. It is intense and can even be fanatical. It is sarcastic, critical, and fond of arguing. Watch out for its cunning side, with Mercury in Scorpio, but take advantage of its practical ability to perform arduous tasks. Communications made as Mercury enters Scorpio are considered and calculated, under this influence one does not just blurt something out, one carefully thinks about how it will affect things and always speaks with a purpose in mind. This energy is good for research, investigation, and detection. Mercury in Scorpio it is a time to the bottom of old mysteries or solve long unresolved problems.
Sun/Mercury Superior Conjunction
The Sun/Mercury Superior Conjunction is exact at 9:16 AM on Thursday. Erin Sullivan’s Retrograde Planets, denotes this astrological event as the start of the Epimethean phase. The Epimethean phase of the Mercury cycle heralds the harvest. It begins at the superior, or direct conjunction, and ends with the inferior conjunction, which occurs during the next Mercury Retrograde. Now is the time to implement and consolidate all of the creative ideas generated during the Promethean phase. In this case, that would be the period between 12th and this conjunction. The current Epimethean phase will end at the inferior conjunction of the Sun and Mercury during the next Retrograde on December 28th. Since I know you will be wondering here are all the dates for the next Retrograde Cycle:
Shadow: December 1, 2016
Storm: December 15, 2016.
Station Retrograde: December 19, 2016. (15.08° Capricorn)
Station Direct: January 8, 2017. (28.51° Sagittarius)
Post Storm: January 12, 2017.
Post Shadow: January 27, 2017.
We have two long Void Moon periods this week. The first begins on Monday at 5:21 AM in Leo, and lasts all the way until 8:16 PM when the Moon enters Virgo. Void Moon in Leo is great for brainstorming creative ideas and solutions, but not great for purchases, appointments, or introductions. The next is on Wednesday at 11:33 AM when the Moon goes Void in Virgo and lasts until 6:51 AM Thursday morning when the Moon enters Libra. Void Virgo Moon is great for organizing. Finally another long one next Saturday in Libra from 3:09 AM until 7:01 PM when the Moon enters Scorpio in preparation for next Sunday’s Scorpio New Moon. Void Moon in Libra is good for catching up with your partner.
