Cancer Full Moon
Although you might think that Mercury stationing Direct early this morning is this week’s big news, a very powerful Cancer Full Moon Cardinal Grand Cross on Thursday at 3:34 AM PT supersedes it. The Jupiter/Uranus opposition, an energy of disruption and sudden awareness, squares this Cancer Full Moon. Jupiter, at 22.11° Libra is almost exact to the Cancer Full Moon’s 22.27° location. And Uranus is not far away at 20.39° Aries. Although we will all be affected by this powerful energy, anyone with Cardinal placements near 22.27° who have been avoiding facing up to reality could get a rude awakening. On the same day Mercury reenters Capricorn, at 6:03 AM, sobering the mind and making it impossible to ignore this wake up call. A much different energy arrives in the afternoon with a Venus/Neptune conjunction in Pisces. This is romantic, and compassionate and should help you to be gentle with yourself after the morning’s intensity. It could also give an overwhelming urge to escape reality, so don’t make any rash decisions. Let the dust settle and move forward slowly and methodically into your brave new world.
More on the Cancer Full Moon
The glyph for Cancer is a crab. Hard-shelled, sideways moving, clawed crabs exemplify this sensitive, and sometimes manipulative sign. The term “crabby” derives both from the crabs painful pinching claws, its tendency to hold on tenaciously, and from its difficult, circuitous circumambulation. Extreme sensitivity spawns Cancer’s defensiveness. This emotional must have a secure base and family unit to function fully. Sometimes they create a new family, but family they must have to thrive. Generally when a Cancer becomes manipulative and crabby it is because they feel threatened and insecure. This brings me to the question of balance that the Cancer Full Moon poses every year. How do we nurture our domestic as well as our professional nature fully? How can we find love and success without sacrificing too much of one for the other?
