Mars enters Scorpio
Mars enters Scorpio next Saturday at 12:59 AM PT. This morning, at 7:47 AM, we had a Full Moon in Gemini at 11.40° exactly squaring Neptune in Pisces. Neptune is the archetype that rules the image, spirit, as well as deception, confusion, and addiction. With a square you are more likely to get some of the unpleasant manifestations, especially if it makes a direct hit to a personal planet. On my chart the Sun is trining my Moon/Uranus conjunction in Leo, so I had a strong and transporting yoga class this morning. Lucy me. When Mars enters Scorpio, the sign of its traditional watery ruler, our energy principle amps up. Traditional astrology stopped at Saturn so the rulerships of the outer planets, such as Pluto ruling Scorpio, do not apply. This is a very Dionysian Mars. Here we have ruthlessness, ambition, craving for power, and the struggle for survival. Mars in the sign of Scorpio can be destructive in its single-minded, selfish striving to attain its goal. This is also the position of the critic, and can be scathing and unrelenting. Quite a change from Mars in Libra!
The rest of the Week
We have two Void Moon’s to watch out for this week. On Monday the Gemini Moon is void from 11:13 AM until it enters Cancer at 12:37 PM. This is not a Monday to go charging into as we are reeling from Mercury turning Retrograde late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, depending on your time zone, and a very disorienting, and perhaps draining Gemini Full Moon square Neptune. Take it easy this morning. The other Void is very brief on Friday afternoon in Leo from 2:40 PM until the Moon enters Virgo at 3:09 PM. We also have a repeat of last week’s Mercury/Saturn conjunction on Wednesday at 4:06 AM now that Mercury is moving backwards. That same day Mars sextiles Saturn at 1:21 PM, an influence that provides endurance.
