Venus trine Jupiter
This last week of 2016 has so many important aspects that it was hard to choose a headliner, but who can resist Venus trine Jupiter on Christmas day? At 5:23 AM PST this morning Venus, the planet of love and art, and Jupiter, the great beneficent, met in a positive, flowing aspect, a true gift. At 8:55 AM Venus sextiles Mr. Excitement, Uranus, and at 10:33 AM Venus sextiles Mr. Stability, Saturn. This amazing combination brings the happiness and joy of Venus trine Jupiter with the added ingredients of unexpected and exciting pleasures promised by Uranus and the staying power of Saturn. I call that some Christmas magic, but I must move on to even just hit the highlights of this life-shifting week.
Monday Jupiter opposes Uranus at 10:35 AM, the Jupiter/Uranus cycle brings breakthroughs in consciousness and sudden release from suffering. Later that day, at 8:19 PM, Mercury sextiles Neptune providing spiritual awareness and a possible presentiment of upcoming events. Early Tuesday morning, at 12:07 AM, the Sun sextiles Mars infusing the day with dynamic vigor. Wednesday we have the New Moon in Capricorn (7.59° at 10:53 PM), the Sun/Mercury Inferior conjunction, (10:47 AM), and Saturn squares Chiron, (3:05 PM) almost simultaneously with a Mercury/Mars sextile, (3:06 PM). Do you see what I mean? What a week and we are only half way thorough. The Capricorn New Moon is the time for new beginnings in our vocational and professional lives, and a time to soberly review where we are and where we aspire to be in our lives. Sun/Mercury conjunct with Mercury in Retrograde motion will greatly aid this year-end assessment, just don’t let the harshness of that Saturn/Chiron square, sure to bring up our worst insecurities, skew your vision. The Mercury/Mars sextile aids the Sun/Mercury clarity and the reality-loving Saturn.
I found a video on Amazon that shows Christmas scenes and plays music, and along with my favorite carol from my Catholic childhood, “O Holy Night,” they recite one of my favorite Yeat’s poems, Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven:
Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
Ok, remember this when you assess your year and plan for the new one!
Thursday, Uranus, the planet of innovation and reform, turns direct at 1:29 AM. When the awakener awakens expect the unexpected. Friday the Sun sextiles Neptune at 3:25 PM. Sun/Neptune is sensitizing and spiritualizing. And finally on Saturday, New Year’s Eve, the last day of 2016, at 10:53 PM Mars and Neptune will meet in the sign of Pisces. Mars and Neptune together can result in everything from a drunken haze and feelings of inferiority to an exalted spiritual experience and great compassion. Chose wisely. I wish you blue skies for the New Year, and may the stars guide you thorough your darkest nights!
