Void Cancer Moon
After trining Mars at 6:36 AM PST, we have a Void Cancer Moon until 6:17 PM when it enters Leo. Void Cancer Moon is good for reconnecting with hearth and home. Home can mean many things to many people. Home is also our psychological foundation–the little habits and rituals we build up over a lifetime that make up who we are and give us a sense of security, of solidity. For some, home is material, made up of the physical dwelling, and comforting objects that have surrounded you for a lifetime. I moved recently and let go of a lot of material possessions, but I was happy to keep several precious things, so that I would still be in a somewhat familiar environment. For others, home is found in the relationships that sustain us. I believe it is different for everyone and influenced by your Moon sign. The Moon represents your emotional needs. Take this time to contemplate your emotional needs. What do you require to sustain you? What are you missing in your life that makes you feel nurtured? I love astrology as a personality system or theory of the psyche. Just as our past is not going away, neither are we. We come into this life with certain archetypal complexes. These are not going away. We can’t eliminate anything that is us. We can, however, find the most elegant way to express who we are, we can realize our potential. The path to grace is though understanding and acceptance. We cannot hate or shame ourselves into wholeness. We return home to ourselves through insight and love.
More Void Cancer Moon
I’ve been thinking about what home means to me. As a Cancer Sun, home and mother and motherhood is of utmost importance. I had a difficult relationship with my Mother, and just became reconciled with her over the last few years. I am very happy that I did and that I am able to advocate for her and bring her some comfort. I have also recently connected with some of my more distant relatives via Facebook. One of my cousins sent me a family tree going back to 1757. It is interesting to explore our roots, especially for people with prominent Cancer placements.
